Founded in 1996, Zhengzhou University Alumni Association is a non-profit and all-round social organization approved by the Education Development of Henan Province and registered with the Civil Affairs Department of Henan Province. Since its inception, ZZUAA has all along aimed at "serving ZZU alumni, the alma mater and the society", and has adhered to the guiding ideology of "emulating first-rate organizations, optimizing resources, taking well-targeted steps and securing leaping development". Upholding the work philosophy of "Our Responsibility Earns Your Trust", ZZUAA is devoted to building a platform for promoting exchanges and cooperation between ZZU and its alumni as well as among the alumni.
After decades of construction and development, ZZUAA has accomplished the following endeavors
It has set up a liaison network that covers all sectors and industries, all schools of ZZU and almost all regions across the world.
The work of ZZUAA has been integrated into the scientific research, talent training, construction of teaching staff, internationalization and social service of Zhengzhou University.
It has created a new pattern of work, namely "Alumni plus".
A great number of activities such as alumni homecoming celebrations, alumni forums, ceremonies for appointing the alumni as tutors and the like.
It has designed cultural and creative products, and created a new brand of alumni culture.
With these efforts, ZZUAA has not only enhanced its cohesion but also greatly extended its influence.
On January 22th, 2021, the Civil Affairs Department of Henan Province officially released the assessment result of 2020 provincial social organizations and Zhengzhou University Alumni Association was rated as "the 5A Social Organization", reaching the highest level. And currently, among the 42 first rate universities in China, Zhengzhou University (ZZU) is the only one to boost a "5A" alumni association, and it is also the only one whose alumni association and foundation are both rated as "5A social organizations". On December 31st, 2021, ZZUAA, standing out from over 900 thousand social organizations nationwide, was rated as "National Outstanding Social Organization" by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
Looking forward, ZZUAA will hold high the banner of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, will inherit and develop Zhengzhou University's motto of "Seek Truth, Shoulder responsibilities", and will unite ZZU alumni both in and outside of China together, thus building itself into a first-rate organization with Chinese, Henan and ZZU characteristics. Moreover, ZZUAA will make more contributions to building the alma mater into a world first-class comprehensive university, helping Henan Province have a brighter future as well as realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
